Feeling Good Every Day: An Immersive Residential Shalom Mountain Experience

  • Shalom Mountain Residence 695 Cattail Road Livingston Manor, NY, 12758 United States (map)

Hosted by Tom Ronen Goddard, PhD and JP Pizzino, MD

Shalom Mountain’s co-founder, Gerry Jud, used to say:

“How often do I want to feel good? Every day!”

Gerry’s teaching on this topic, however, was anything but pure hedonism. Sure, he did love his delights in the physical realm, but he knew that the true pleasures operated at all levels — embodiment, creativity, work in the world, interpersonal love, expression, intuition, and, above all, the pleasure of connection to the Divine.

Shalom Mountain, Dr. JP Pizzino, and Dr. Tom Ronen Goddard are collaborating to offer this immersive, one-week residential experience on the campus of Shalom Mountain in the Western Catskill Mountains of New York to explore what it is to build a day-to-day practice that supports all the aspects of ourselves in a way that we can sustain over the course of a lifetime.

Participants in this residential experience will live in the beautiful Shalom Mountain residence just across Cattail Road from the Shalom Mountain Retreat Center. With registration limited to 5 participants, we will dive deeply into an exploration of integrating the transformational experience of a Shalom Mountain Retreat weekend into our daily living.

We will immerse ourselves in an experience of radical self-care, tending to all of our “bodies”:

  • Physical (through exquisite healthful food and delicious exercise, and individual consultation with Dr. Pizzino)

  • Emotional (through a wide range of loving modalities, including immersion in the gorgeous nature available throughout the Shalom Mountain campus, music, and interpersonal connection, and individual work with Dr. Goddard)

  • Cognitive (through individual and group exploration of the principles of exquisite self-care, service, and a nurturing worldview)

  • Spiritual (through individualized practices that support each participant’s evolving relationship with the Divine, however each person experiences that process)

The residential retreat will offer at least 4 hours each day of unscheduled time for participants to work, play, reflect, wander the Shalom grounds, or simply rest. Internet is available and included, so those who have work responsibilities and are able to work remotely can remain connected to that work.
